Two Cameroonian soldiers have lost their lives after their convoy hit a land mine planted by Boko Haram, reports say.
The victims were returning to their base after completing an anti-Boko Haram operation in Nigeria when disaster struck, Associated Press reports.
Eight other soldiers were injured in the incident, commanding officer, General Jacob Kodji said.
“Boko Haram has resorted to using land mines to kill our soldiers. Their fire power has been weakened but our soldiers and populations should be careful and watchful,” Kodji said.
“They put explosives on the road. They know that when the car will pass on those explosives everything will be blown off,” he added.
The incident comes after Nigerian and Cameroonian soldiers were reported to have killed 10 terrorists during a joint operation in Borno State.
