A lot of playing and retired footballers are currently in Antalya, Turkey. Most arrived yesterday and were scheduled to leave tomorrow after playing in Eto’o’s charity match scheduled to take place today July 16th in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his foundation. Unfortunately, you all know what happened in the country last night; a coup attempt that resulted in the death of over 90 people…

The dinner night held last night, but the charity football match scheduled for today has been cancelled. Some guests are even stranded in Turkey following the lockdown of their major airports.

Hazard Eden, Puyol, Michael Essien, Kolo Toure, Kanu Nwankwo, JJ Okocha, AY Comedian, Paw Paw and many others are currently in Turkey. Eto’o spent millions on first class tickets and five star hotels for his guests…unfortunately all wasted.

The number of dead from a coup attempt in Turkey has risen to 90, the state-run news agency Anadolu reported on Saturday, adding that 1,154 people were wounded.

Nearly 200 unarmed soldiers at the Turkish military headquarters have meanwhile surrendered, an official said, adding that special troops were currently securing the complex.

The report revealed that the 30-year-old woman who works as a marketer with a telecommunication firm had left for work in the morning but got arrested on the way for speeding. When she came back home unannounced, she was shocked to see the house-help stark n*ked and cooking.

When she asked her why she was cooking totally n*ked, the house-help responded saying she was on her way to the shower. She checked the house and bathroom and found nothing suggesting that the house-help was about having her bath and neither a towel in sight nor a clean set of clothes to wear after the shower.

The woman whose daughter recently had been giving her problems during showers by refusing to get dressed after was forced to inquire from the little daughter who opened up saying that the house-help always walk around the house n*ked. The little girl who has been copying the house-help by refusing to wear her clothe after bath further revealed that ‘auntie’ (the house-help) made her lick her private parts every time her mother left the house for work.

That was when the woman realized where the source of the daughter’s bacterial infections week after week came from. It was gathered that in a bid to prove if it was true, the woman took her daughter to the hospital where a test confirmed the daughter’s saliva was mixed with vaginal fluids.

The woman is currently contemplating suing her house-help for molesting her child while hoping that the young one did not contract any s*xually transmitted infections.

Nigerian President Muhummadu Buhari writes of building an economic bridge to Nigeria’s future (“The Three Changes Nigeria Needs,” op-ed, June 14). It’s hard to see how his administration’s inflexibility, lack of vision and reactive approach will achieve this.
Mr. Buhari notes that building trust is a priority for Nigeria. But an anticorruption drive that is selective and focused on senior members of the opposition party creates deep political divisions. Meanwhile, members of Mr. Buhari’s own cabinet, accused of large-scale corruption, walk free. Seventy percent of the national treasury is spent on the salaries and benefits of government officials, who make upwards of $2 million a year.
As for Mr. Buhari’s ideas to rebalance the economy and regenerate growth, his damaging and outdated monetary policy has been crippling. The manufacturing sector, essential to Nigeria’s diversification, has been hardest hit, exacerbating an already fast-growing employment crisis. Foreign investors have started to flee en masse.
Mr. Buhari makes only brief mention of the country’s deteriorating security situation. But security and stability are precursors to economic growth and development. Boko Haram has been pushed back for now, but little attention is paid to the structural issues that have spurred its rise.

Instead, the Nigerian government has diverted much-needed military resources to the Niger Delta, where rising militancy has reduced Nigeria’s oil production to less than half the country’s capacity, and half the amount required to service the national budget. Much of these tensions arise from Mr. Buhari’s decision to cut amnesty payments to militants and an excessively hard-line approach in a socially and politically sensitive environment.
Other ethnic tensions are also growing. In the country’s south, protests have been met by a bloody response from the Nigerian military, stoking the fire and galvanizing support for an independent state of Biafra. Rising tensions could again pose one of the greatest threats to Nigeria’s stability and future.

Riot police on Wednesday armed with tear gas and batons charged at English fans who were yelling ‘we hate Russia’ after it emerged that Russian fans had reportedly vowed to attack their English counterparts.

Police Officers made 36 arrests during violent scenes that unfolded in the hours after Russia were beaten 2-1 by Slovakia at the city’s Métropole stadium as hundreds of fans surged from a pub where they had been chanting ‘we hate Russia’ before running through Lille city centre yesterday.

According to the DailyMail, eyewitnesses say they saw paramedics giving one fan CPR while another fan was reportedly knocked to the ground before his head was stamped as 16 more people were hospitalized.

Riot police started firing tear gas to disperse English supporters, many of them apparently drunk, late into the evening as it emerged a ‘really violent’ fight between up to 15 England and Wales fans had broken out on a train from Calais to Lille – a day before the teams are due to meet in their second game of Euro 2016.

A Boeing 777 plane was forced to make an emergency landing en route from Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia, to New York’s JFK airport when it was forced to divert to London, yesterday, June 15, when a woman went into labour.

The pilots of the Saudi Arabian Airlines plane declared an emergency while flying over Northern Ireland, the Mail Online reported.

Flight tracking radar shows that an emergency was declared while the plane was flying over Northern Ireland. The flight tracking website Air Live reported at 10:47 BST that “a woman is giving birth” on board flight SV21.

It had traveled over northern England before flying over Northern Ireland. However, it turned around over Ireland and started travelling towards Wales.

Pictures of the cabin crew holding the baby have gone viral on social media and have been widely shared. The mother and baby were taken to hospital following the birth.

A Saudi Arabian Airlines officer confirmed the mid-flight birth, saying that “a happy event forced the Jeddah-New York plane to land in London”.

Abdul Rahman Al Fahad said that the passenger was in her seventh month and had a report that allowed her to board the plane.
“Both the mother and the baby girl are doing fine,” Al Fahad said, quoted by Saudi daily Okaz on Thursday, June 16.
