The Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, has sacked the Managing Director of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA), Austin Evbakhavbokun, with immediate effect.
You will recall that the Edo state Governor directed the arrest of two members of staff of the disbanded DSTMA for fraud.
There are unconfirmed reports that the sack might be connected to fraud carried out in the traffic agency.
Although, no official reason has been given for the sack, reports say the Governor also compulsorily retired the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities from Edo State Civil Service, Augustine Akhuamhekhun.
The affected officers have since been directed to hand over to appropriate personnel who will take over from them.
Oshiomhole recently lashed out at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Tony Anenih, asking him to hand over the N260 million he allegedly received from former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki as part of $2 billion in funds looted from Nigeria’s coffers.
The former labour leader turned politician, also alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan threatened to cage him after May 29,2015 for declaring his support for the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last general elections.
