The new deadly militant group, the Asawana Deadly Force of Niger Delta, ADFND, which on Thursday claimed to have taking over from the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, yesterday slated the date it would bomb some strategic bridges in the country.
The group sets Saturday July 2nd, 2016,as the day it will bomb Bonga Field, Onitsha -Asaba bridge, Third Mainland bridge, and other major bridges across the southern of the country.
A statement by the group, signed by its leader, Commander Olomubini Kakarakokoro, a.k.a No Mercy, “We are bombing Bonga field, Onitsha -Asaba bridge, Third Mainland Bridge, and other major bridges across the southern of the country, on Saturday 2nd July, 2016.”
“This is not a mere threat. The only way out is for the Federal Government to relocate all headquarters of major oil companies to Niger Delta. They are built with our oil money. They must be moved back to the Niger Delta region.”
The group sternly warn the federal government to take its threat serious.

A Niger Delta Militant member, Felix Timileami, has opened up about his grievances and why he supports the action of the Niger Delta Militants. The Niger Delta militant, who is still in his late 30s and hails from Warri, in Delta state, said: “It’s the only means to vent our anger and to draw the world’s attention.” The 39-year-old Timileami, who is a son of a retired soldier and a petty trader, has participated in the last insurgency since the mid-2000s, according to Naij.
He revealed that “they wanted to make Nigeria fall to its knees.” Timileami further disclosed that he supported former President Goodluck Jonathan at the last presidential election and he sees the coming of Buhari as the president as a threat to their way of life.
The native of Delta state militant said he had to take up the gun again as the money he was getting every month as stipend from the federal government was not coming regularly. Timileani vowed not to stop blowing up oil pipelines with his group, until President Buhari “comes to his senses.”

ND AVENGERS BOMBING THREAT: See Out Come Of 4-hour Meeting Between Osinbajo, S-South Govs, Service Chiefs.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and governors from the South-South region met yesterday over the renewed militancy in the Niger Delta, and agreed that military vacate the communities but remain in the waterways while engagement is ongoing.
The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) in recent times have bombed oil and gas installations in the region, boasting that it reduced oil production from 2.2 million to 900,000 per day, even as the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF) threatened to bomb key infrastructure across the country including Aso Rock, Defence Headquarters and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Those in the meeting were Governors Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Segun Mimiko (Ondo) and Cross Rivers was represented by the deputy.
Also in attendance were service chiefs, ministers of defence, Mansur Dan Ali, Niger Delta, Usoro Uguru, and Minister of State Petroleum, Ibe Kachukwu. The meeting which lasted for over four hours, according to Okowa who briefed State House correspondents, was very fruitful.
He said the meeting harped on the importance of the federal and state governments synergy, noting that it will help to tackle the current issues bedeviling the Niger Delta, especially Bayelsa and Delta states.
“One thing we identified which, is the synergy between the Federal Government and the states is very important, and this meeting has raised a lot of issues and we believe that the collaboration will help us tackle the issues in the Niger Delta.
“Of course, we were briefed by the service chiefs and the governors also have their own perspectives along with the minister of state petroleum. We have taken a lot of decisions which will help us mitigate what is going on currently in the states, particularly Bayelsa and Delta.
We believe we are going to find solution to it. “One of such is that there is a need for us to share intelligence, which is very important, and for us to be proactive, working together with the various stakeholders in the states to achieve a better result going forward.
“We have also agreed that there is a need to distill military operations directly in communities, but the military need to actually remain on our waterways to ensure that we adequately man the waterways itself while we engage the communities and that engagement process is starting any moment from now,” he said.
On how soon the outcome of the meeting will be implemented, Okowa replied, “Right from today, there is a meeting right after this and we are going to be collaborating even as we return to our various states.”
Asked if the Federal Government was going to revisit amnesty issue, the Delta governor said: “I don’t think the amnesty has been put to a stop. I think the process is still ongoing, we have a Special Adviser in charge of amnesty and he is doing very well. I am aware that he did come in to talk with some of the communities along with the advocacy team that was put up in Delta State.
“He did brief us today and I believe it is going to be maintained”. Speaking in the same vain, Oshiomhole stressed that Nigeria is not saying dialogue was the best way to settle conflicts. “Nigeria is not at war and we cannot be at war with ourselves.”

Just In!!! New Niger Delta Militant Group Gives Date They Will Blow Up Aso Rock
According to a statement made on Monday, June 6, the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF), has said it will attack Aso Rock, the fortress of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group in its statement identified other strategic places it will attack to include, the police headquarters, defence headquarters, NNPC towers, Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters, national assembly, military formations across the country, among others. Vanguard reports that the resurgent militant group said former President Goodluck Jonathan should not be linked with the rebirth of militancy in the region.
The statement reads:
“The followings occupants of these buildings should as a matter of urgency vacate in them immediately IN THEIR OWN INTEREST to save their lives because our fight is not for ANY HUMAN BLOOD but to destroy all those infrastructures that were built with our oil and gas monies in this country. We will make federal government and oil companies to suffer as they have made the people of Niger Delta region suffer over the years,” the statement read in parts.
“We shall fire these Missiles’ simultaneously at the night, as this will enable every Nigerians to see the movement of the MISSILES and equally to believe us of our seriousness attached to the final breakup as predicted by the United States of America (USA). “We equally advise the diplomatic community to be neutral on this issue as wrong comments against us will be seen as saboteurs. Where they are staying presently will not be affected which is not part of our targeted areas of destruction in the country,” the JNDLF further stated.
The boasted that the deployment of war arsenal in the region by the Nigerian Airforce will not stop them from carrying out their activities.
“We shall embarrass the self acclaimed Nigerian Air Force with their recent deployment of fighter aircraft, helicopter gunship and surveillance aircraft when at this digital age, countries are talking about missile development, and they still condescend so low of their present obsolete equipment. “Note, we are going to destroy the ones they have deployed to Escravos, Forcados in Delta State; Bonga oil field, Agbami offshore and Brass in Bayelsa; Bony in Rivers; Qua Iboe Terminal in Akwa Ibom State, and Opuekeba in Ondo State if they fails to remove them before time.

NIGER DELTA : Shell Petroleum Development Company Releases Official Statement, Suspends Oil Export Indefinitely
The Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited, the Nigerian subsidiary of Dutch oil giant, Royal Dutch Shell, on Friday has confirmed Niger Delta Avengers’ claims that a major damage was done to its oil installations in Delta State in the early hours of Friday, saying the attack had forced it to shut down crude exports indefinitely.
The statement corroborates earlier statements by the Niger Delta Avengers, a new militant group that has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on oil installations, in renewed hostilities across the oil-rich region. The Avengers had shortly after 5 a.m. on Tuesday announced the bombing of a 48’’ export pipeline owned by Shell in the Forcados on Twitter. “At 3:00 a.m. today, @Niger Delta Avengers blow (sic) up the SPDC forcados 48″ export line. We warned SPDC not to go ahead with repair works but they refuse,” the group tweeted.
Responding to news of the attack, Shell’s spokesman, Bamidele Odugbesan, said the incident happened between a shoreline and the Forcados Export Terminal which impacted seriously on its export capabilities.
“The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, operator of the SPDC JV, has confirmed signs of a leak on the 48 inch Forcados export pipeline at a location between shoreline and the Forcados terminal in the western Niger Delta, coming on the heels of a reported attack on the pipeline in the early hours of Friday, June 3,” the statement said. Mr. Odugbesan said the company was assessing the impact of the damage and had “mobilised appropriate oil spill response measures”.
“We are yet to fully evaluate the potential impact and damage to the pipeline resulting from this latest incident. We have however mobilised appropriate oil spill response measures and will be conducting a joint investigation visit to the leak site with relevant stakeholders.
“We are currently focused on securing the pipeline to protect the environment. Given this latest incident and the wider security situation in the Niger Delta, we are unable to determine probable timing of resumption of exports from the Forcados terminal,” Mr. Odugbesan said.
Shell Nigeria is “the operator of the export line on behalf of the joint venture partners comprising the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC (55%), SPDC (30%), Total E&P Nigeria Ltd (10%) and Nigerian Agip Oil Company (5%),” the statement said. The latest damage to Shell installations followed a series of bombings that rocked Chevron, Agip, and NNPC oil and gas installations across the Niger Delta in the last few days, including other Shell- operated facilities.
On Thursday night, the group made a similar claims on its Twitter account, saying it blew up Ogboinbiri to Tebidaba and Clough Creek to Tebidaba crude oil pipelines in Bayelsa State,” as part of its campaign to bring Nigeria’s oil production output to “zero”. On Wednesday, the Avengers said it was responsible for the destruction of Chevron oil wells RMP 23 and RMP 24, and mocked Nigeria’s military for being only “good in harassing innocent civilians.”
Nigerian military on Wednesday denied the militants’ claims that it had become helpless in the circumstance, saying it would not be negligent in its obligations to Nigerians. “The Defence Headquarters wishes to emphasize that the Nigerian Armed Forces will not relent in their efforts to flush out economic saboteurs masquerading under whatever guise to perpetuate evils in the Niger Delta,” Rabe Abubakar, the Acting Director of Defence Information, said in a statement.”
WE ARE MOVING INTO BLACKOUT!!! 19 Plants Shut As Militant Attacks Shrink Gas Supply
Nineteen thermal plants in Nigeria have been shut down after militants knocked out the Forcados export pipeline last February, and the Escravos- Lagos link early May, leaving the country to depend on only four gas-powered generators. This, according to Bloomberg yesterday, signalled a looming nationwide blackout if nothing is done to address the renewed attacks on gas installations.
“All but four of the country’s 23 gas- powered generators have been shut down,” the news agency reported. Quoting the Chief Executive Officer of Egbin power plant, Dallas Peavey Jr., Bloomberg reported that the shortage of gas supply is a big threat to the plant’s plan to double power generation.
Egbin is Nigeria’s largest power facility whose output has fallen to less than 10 per cent of its 1,320-megawatt capacity. “For all the plants, there’s no gas,” Peavey said, adding, “We’re sitting idle here.” Until the violence ends and the gas supplies resume, Peavey has shelved plans to double Egbin’s output.
Stating that electricity generation is down to a fifth of this year’s peak, the Bloomberg reported that Nigerians might have to get used to living in the dark. “Unless President Muhammadu Buhari, 73, can subdue armed militants attacking gas facilities that supply the nation’s power plants, his plans to remedy an electricity shortage he called a “national shame” in his inauguration speech a year ago will be stillborn.
“In March, Buhari said he would increase power generation by 2,000 megawatts this year and raise it by 2019 to 10,000 megawatts, double this year’s peak in early February. “Then militants in the oil-rich Niger Delta started repeatedly blowing up gas pipelines, lowering electricity output to 1,000 megawatts on May 23. The scarcity has battered an economy already in crisis because of falling prices for its main export, oil, threatening a recession.
As it is, Africa’s largest economy currently generates about a 30% of
South Africa’s electricity production, for a population more than three times its size,” the report stated. With Africa’s biggest gas reserves of more than 180 trillion cubic feet, gas-generated power was touted as the obvious solution by a succession of governments to end daily blackouts that cost the economy at least 2 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) growth annually, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Gas-fired power plants provide about 80 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity supply, according to Pabina Yinkere, head of research at Lagos-based Vetiva Capital Management Ltd. “With current power output the lowest in a decade, millions of Nigerians either do without electricity or are forced to buy fuel for their own generators. Even when output reached its 5,000-megawatt peak, most of the country was in darkness,” Yinkere said.
“Nigeria’s electricity consumption per capita is 142 kilowatt hours compared to 4,328 KWH in South Africa,” he added. The partial sale of 17 former state-owned power utilities three years ago was meant to attract investment needed to expand the grid.
Yet, private investors have been hampered by increasing debt owed by government, an inability to obtain foreign exchange to import equipment and, now, militants’ attack on key installations.
Things Are not getting better by the Day. #PrayforNigeria.
It Is Shameful That President Buhari Could Run From NIGER Delta Militants – Governor Fayose Blasts
Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari aborted his trip to the oil-rich Ogoni land in Rivers state, as a result of the assassination threat from the Niger Delta Avengers.
A militant had told one of the hosts of UK-based Radio Biafra that Buhari “should sign his death warrant” before his visit to Ogoni, and the president ended up delegating Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo to the landmark flag-off of the clean-up of Ogoni.
Reacting, Fayose advised Nigerians to seek help elsewhere, because Buhari had “surrendered to the superior powers of the militants”.
“It is shameful and embarrassing that a retired military general could succumb to threat from militants despite what he told Nigerians that he was going to lead from the fronts,” read a statement issued on his behalf by Lere Olayinka, his special assistant on public communications and new media.
“By not going to Ogoni today, because of threat from the NDA, our president has shown that he is actually afraid of the militants and the best thing to do in a situation like this is to dialogue with the militants so as to save Nigeria economy from imminent collapse.
“It also shows that the president’s ability to secure Nigeria and its people is doubtful, because if the president could succumb to threat from militants and abandon his official function for his deputy, ordinary Nigerians should seek help elsewhere.
“The president should therefore save Nigeria the agony of military misadventure in the Niger Delta by holding dialogue with the militants with a view to resolving their grievances. He should emulate late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua by having a roundtable talks with the Niger Delta militants.”

It is unclear if the President plans to attend the ECOWAS meeting schedule to discuss issues of regional security and economic development in Dakar Tomorrow.

Niger Delta Avengers : Threatened Saying President Buhari Will Die If He Visits Ogoniland
A suspected member of a newly established militant group in Nigeria has warned the life of President Muhammadu Buhari is in danger if he visits the oil-rich Niger Delta region. In a recording sent to IBTimes UK, a man is heard saying during a phone conversation withone of the hosts of UK-based Radio Biafra, that Buhari “should sign his death warrant” before his visit.
Buhari is due to visit some states in south-eastern Nigeria to discuss with local leaders ways to tackle renewed violence in the area.
Niger Delta Avengers deny killing soldiers as military crackdown against new militants continues.
The president’s planned visit – which is expected to begin on Thursday (2 June 2016) – comes as attacks on oil pipelines blamed on the new group Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) partially halted oil production, and forced Chevron and Royal Dutch Shell to close at least two plants.
“Buhari is trying to visit Ogoniland, but he should sign his death warrant before coming to Port Harcourt or try to visit any state of the Niger Delta community, Biafra land,” the suspected NDA member said during the phone call.
“We are starting a dance he cannot finish. We shall dance like vultures. He [Buhari] has dared to wake a sleeping lion, but I promise him this time around if he tries to step his foot in any community of the Niger Delta, in Nairaland, he will not go back alive. Any Niger Deltan who will try to walk with Buhari shall also go to his grave that day. This is our assurance.”

Killings of pro-Biafrans
The man also condemned the fact that Nigerian security forces opened fire on pro-Biafran demonstrators during commemorations to pay homage to the
victims of the 1967-1970 Nigerian Civil War, also known as Biafran War, on Monday (30 May 2016). Police confirmed the deaths of 10 protesters and two police officers during clashes in Anambra state, claiming demonstrators were armed. Pro-Biafrans denied the allegations.
“The Nigerian government shot and killed our brothers. They showed us are the monsters,” the man said. He then urged all pro-Biafrans to pray for their leader Nnamdi Kanu – director of radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] – who is standing trial on six counts of treasonable felony charges.

Buhari ‘can go wherever he wants’
Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, Nigeria’s director of defence information, told IBTimes UK the government does not perceive NDA as a threat. “Niger Delta is part of Nigeria and will remain part of Nigeria for life. Buhari is the president, he is number one, he can go anywhere he wants,” he said.
“[The] NDA are just criminals and we are treating them as criminals. We are not being intimidated, we remain focussed to ensure security in the country and that Nigeria remains one. Nobody is above the interest of the country,” he continued.
“No nation can tolerate an individual group causing havoc and advocating for separation. There are measures in our constitution to ensure this will not happen. We cannot and will not tolerate what these people are doing. In the long run, they will surely pay for they have done.”
Pro-Biafra supporters shout slogans in Aba during a protest calling for the release of leader Nnamdi Kanu in November 2015 Pius Utomi
NDA and pro-Biafrans
Pro-Biafrans are demanding the independence of Biafran territories forcibly annexed to Nigeria during British colonisation, which ended in 1960.
Intelligence consultant David Otto believes NDA also has secessionist views, and
this can explain their support for the Biafra cause. “The Avengers could be that official military wing that IPOB and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (Massob) never had,” he said.
“The direct threat to the life of the President may not be substantiated, but it is bold move for the Avengers. On the other hand, NDA could be teasing the government security services to overreact with more brute force – a move that will galvanise more hatred and distrust.
These are signs of future uncertainty in the region – but how the government reacts will be key to peace or further chaos,” Otto, who is the CEO of UK-based global security provider TGS Intelligence Consultants, continued.
“Some prominent ex militants of the Niger Delta region promised hell if their brother, then President Goodluck Jonathan, did not win the 2015 election. We are now seeing those threats manifesting in various shapes and sizes in the South East and South South.”
