Okorocha: Governor demands list of Imo indigenes serving jail terms in US

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha urged the US to provide his government with a list of the state’s indigenes who are serving jail terms in the country.
the request was made on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, when he received a courtesy visit from the United States Consular General, John Bray ,
Okorocha also said that some of our people are in the US prison and are languishing there.
“I want to appeal that the names of such Imo sons and daughters be made available to me with the offences they have committed so that we take a look at them"

“If they are people we can bring back on bail we will do that and bring them back to the state and provide for them as hope has come to the state.

“We are concerned as a people and as a government. We want the dossier of such our sons and daughters.  We want to see how the state government can facilitate their release and integrate them back into Imo community,” he added.
Okorocha added that not all the prisoners are guilty, that some are just victims of social circumstances.
