Nigeria International Victor Moses and Norway-based defender William Troost-Ekong have been added to the provisional list for the Rio Olympics by Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia, AfricanFootball.com report.
This comes as a surprise to many after he recently snubbed the Super Eagles friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg.
However, it is left to be seen if his selection would be favorably sanctioned by the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
While Victor Moses is 25 and may be favored as one of three overage players allowed for the competition, central defender Troost-Ekong is only 22 and so he falls within the allowed age of 23.
It was gathered that Siasia has finally submitted a list of 56 players, four players short of a much-publicized 60-man provisional squad for the summer games.
Nigerians who are African champions have been drawn against Colombia, Sweden and Japan in the first round of the tournament in Brazil, which begins in August. Let's support our Team.
