A Niger Delta Militant member, Felix Timileami, has opened up about his grievances and why he supports the action of the Niger Delta Militants. The Niger Delta militant, who is still in his late 30s and hails from Warri, in Delta state, said: “It’s the only means to vent our anger and to draw the world’s attention.” The 39-year-old Timileami, who is a son of a retired soldier and a petty trader, has participated in the last insurgency since the mid-2000s, according to Naij.
He revealed that “they wanted to make Nigeria fall to its knees.” Timileami further disclosed that he supported former President Goodluck Jonathan at the last presidential election and he sees the coming of Buhari as the president as a threat to their way of life.
The native of Delta state militant said he had to take up the gun again as the money he was getting every month as stipend from the federal government was not coming regularly. Timileani vowed not to stop blowing up oil pipelines with his group, until President Buhari “comes to his senses.”
