Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, announced that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) would be split into seven independent units.
According to him, the oil company will be divided into Upstream, Downstream, Gas & Power Marketing, Refineries and Ventures, Corporate Planning & Services and Finance and Accounts.
The move has led oil workers in the country to shut down all NNPC offices in protest.
