Governor Fayose Reacts Angrily On The Arrest Of His ‘Best Friend/Aide’ Over N4.7bn Fraud
Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose’s aide/best friend , Abiodun Agbele has been arrested by the EFCC over allegations of aiding and abetting Fayose to launder part of the N4.7 billion he received from the Office of the former National Security Officer, Sambo Dasuki in June 2014. EFCC is accusing Agbele of receiving N4.7 billion from former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obankoro, and handing it over to Fayose. Agbele was arrested in Lagos last night and is being detained at the Lagos office of the antigraft agency.
Read Fayose’s statement;
Our attention has been drawn to the arrest of Mr Abiodun Agbele by the EFCC and we wish to say that we encourage the EFCC to carry out its investigations without politics as it is being done now. It must be pointed out that at no time was Mr Abiodun Agbele invited by the EFCC, and if he had been invited, he would have honoured the invitation. Therefore, there is nothing to celebrate in his arrest if it is not political.
As already pointed out, Governor Ayodele Fayose does not have anything to do with any fund from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). He has stated how his election was funded and Zenith Bank that he said funded his election has not denied doing so.
Also, the person said to have been arrested is an adult and will defend himself when the time comes. Subjecting him to media trial as EFCC has been doing since the inception of this government will only give our adversaries momentary sense of joy.
We await reports of EFCC investigations and we hope that the anti-corruption agency will be civil enough to allow an open and transparent trial in competent court of law and not media trial just to get at Governor Fayose because of his uncompromising stance against the misrule of the APC/Buhari led federal government.
Whatever stories being circulated by the EFCC and its political allies can at best be regarded as rumour as we were all in Nigeria when Nigerians were told that $700m cash was found in the House of Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke and the story turned out to be lie.
Finally, like we have maintained, Governor Fayose will remain resolute in making his opinions known on national issues and will not be intimidated.

A lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department of the College of Education Oju in Benue State, Godwin Abuul, has been allegedly murdered by his wife for cheating on her. It was gathered that Abuul, who went missing about two weeks ago in Gboko, was killed by his wife.
She allegedly dumped his remains in River Katsina/Ala.
According to Vanguard ,the deceased was declared missing in Gboko two weeks ago after returning from Oju where he lectured at the state owned College of Education.
Narrating the story, a family source said,
“Goddy used to lecture at the College of Education in Oju. He travels weekly from here in Gboko to Oju to lecture, after which he returns to Gboko to spend his weekend with his wife and two children.
“Unfortunately, two weeks ago he returned from Oju and said he was traveling to Katsina/Ala on a private visit, that was the last we heard of him.
“His disappearance was reported to the Police who since then have been combing the entire state in search of him.
“Luckily, just two days ago, the cloth he wore the last day we saw him was found with a young man, who was immediately arrested by the Police in Gboko.
“Upon interrogation, the young man confessed to the Police how the missing lecturer was allegedly killed by his wife in connivance with her siblings.
“His confession triggered the arrest of several persons including the wife of the deceased and mother of his two children and all those mentioned in the saga, by the Police in Gboko, though the matter has been transferred to the Command Headquarters in Makurdi for further investigations.”
Continuing, the source said,
“already his wife has confessed all she knew about the matter to the Police. We learnt that she alleged that her brothers beat her husband up because he was involved in extra marital affairs, but not with the intention to kill him.
“After killing him, they allegedly dumped his body in River Katsina/Ala and also went ahead to sell his Honda car to an innocent buyer for the sum of N650,000 and of that sum, the wife of the murdered lecturer was given the sum of N400, 000 as her share of the proceed.
“As I speak with you, the Police and local divers are still combing River Katsina/Ala to locate the remains of Goddy (the deceased) but we very much doubt if his remains would be seen, because the fishes must have feasted on it.”
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Assistant Superintendent, ASP, Moses Yamu who confirmed the incident said he was yet to get full details of the matter.
Yamu said, “yes I know of the matter but I’m yet to get the full details from the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, because the suspects are yet to arrive Makurdi. At this moment I cannot confirm that the wife of the deceased was behind his murder until the details are made available to me.”

Uche Odoputa was close to becoming an A-list actor when he fell into serious problems.

Unfortunately, he altered the course of his career. In 2007, he was arrested for trafficking drugs and subsequently, he was imprisoned for two years and three weeks.
The Orlu, Imo State-born actor, said he wasn’t making enough money and some individuals took advantage of his desperation and introduced him to the drug trade.
“I regret my actions. I was a growing brand and a lot of people were angered by my action. I was disappointed in myself. I thank God I came out of prison a changed person,” he said.
Speaking on how the incident affected him, Uche said it cost him a lot and hampered his growth in Nollywood.
He said, “It took away my career and the little fame I had at that time. Gaining recognition in Nollywood and even among my colleagues has been a struggle since then.” Nevertheless, not all of his colleagues distanced themselves from him while he was in prison, he said.

On our way home on Friday morning at about 12:45am from supporting DJ Obi at his 10-day attempt to beat world record with two of my friends, we stopped to get Sharwama at Maroccaine Restaurant (a popular 24-hr restaurant in Victoria Island). On our way out, we approached a police stop with three fully armed police officers at Ligali Ayorinde and turned on our inner lights and my friend driving wound down so they can see we were all harmless girls. Immediately he started accusing her of holding something in her hand, aggressively questioning “what is in your hand?!”. She shows him her empty hands and he goes on to say that he must search the boot and demands we come out of the car. I came out of the car to check this boot with him, he inspected, found nothing and before I closed the boot he quickly walked towards the passenger’s door I had left opened and grabbed my friend’s bag.
She asked him severally to return the bag, and we all started saying “give us the bag!” and then he began to rain insults on us, yelling “What’s in this bag? There is an ‘exhibit’ in this bag! I must search this bag!” while continuously flashing his flash light directly in our eyes like we were criminals. This did not even allow us to see his name or his badge so we know how to address him. Bear in mind we were just 3 girls and officer 2 & 3 stood there doing nothing like they were waiting for other cars to harass. So I picked up my phone to call for help and before I knew it, he forcefully snatched my phone from hand leaving us in shock, fear and we frantically started shouting “give us our phone and bag back!” and even trying to get the attention of the few passerbys incase anyone could help. Insults fly as things get heated up, he threatens us multiple times that he will use his belt on us and then I managed to grab my friend’s bag, but my phone remained in his possession.
He started insulting my parents, “God punish your mother and father! Your father is an idiot!”. He called us stupid, indisciplined etc. repeating himself “Am I your mate?”. I scream “you are holding my property! Give me my phone! This is stealing! The police are stealing!” and that was when he released his grip of my phone and I started walking back to the car. He chased me and started pushing me and slammed my body against the car. Thank God my door was still open I jumped in, locked the door and my friend zoomed off.
As we drove off I felt a sharp pain, realised I was bleeding on my right hand and three of my nails had been broken. How can a police officer assault me like this? This is gross misuse of power and brutality.
We called Police Control, Rapid Response Service (RRS) and the emergency switchboard (112) who forwarded my number to another unit. They weren’t helpful at all, instead asked us what we expect them to do and were frankly not concerned. Someone from RRS advised I go home and call back at 7am. The emergency switch board told me they would forward my details and we should expect a call back… Till now, no call back.
This has opened my eyes to the fact that WE ARE NOT SAFE IN NIGERIA!!!
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE EMERGENCY RESPONSE.
Think about it… If I were being brutally raped, robbed or attacked and I called our so called ’emergency service’, nobody would show up. It’s a sobering thought to think that;
The ones who should be protecting you are the ones to really be afraid of
If something horrible happens, there’s no calvary, there’s no red and blue sirens coming to your aid… YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN!

35-year-old Corporal Christian Oboko, attached to Rivers State Police Command, has been arrested for armed robbery. People were shocked because Oboko was not just an ordinary policeman, he was a resident Pastor of Battle Axe Assembly Church, located at the Chuba Allo area of Port Harcourt.
He started his armed robbery career using two pistols his police team recovered from suspected robbers. He was known for always mounting the pulpit to preach about salvation and hell fire. He was also known for preaching to his colleagues at the slightest opportunity.
In an interview with newsmen, he said:
“I don’t know what came over me. I’m the resident Pastor of Battle Axe Assembly Church, located at the Chuba Allo area of Port Harcourt. I have the calling from God to be a pastor. I don’t know what made me join this evil business of robbery.
I know this business is evil and shouldn’t have joined but I could not resist the temptation.” His double life was blown open after one of his gang members, John Paul Amandi, 27, was arrested. A police source said: “Oboko provided guns for the gang.
Whenever the gang was moving stolen vehicles through interstate, he would go with them to ensure no security agents would disturb them on the road. Whenever any of the gang members were arrested, Oboko would get them bailed using police influence and lies.
Amandi’s confessions aided the police in arresting Oboko.” Oboko, who joined the force in 2003 said he was living at the police barracks on Iche Street, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, while ‘moonlighting’ as a robber.

‘A management team from Zenith Bank Plc visited Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, over the involvement of the bank in the funding of the June 21, 2014 governorship election of the governor.
Their visit to the governor followed a reported denial by the bank that it was not part of the funding of the election.
The team was led by an Executive Director, Sola Oladipo. It also had two zonal directors of the bank and the Ado-Ekiti branch manager.
When accosted by newsmen, the ED said they only came to see the governor.
Asked whether the bank really dissociated itself from the claim by the governor that it was part of the funding of the election, Shola could only mutter some inaudible words.
He eventually said the spokesman for the bank was not on the team and could not say anything.
While commenting on the development, Governor Fayose said the bank officials came to beg him over the issue.
“They were begging me and that the matter should not go beyond this level.
I asked them why did they go to the EFCC to tell lies.
Why did they have to lie that money came from the Office of the National Security Adviser? If the money is for me why did they have to link with me what is not.”

Aisha Buhari’s ‘Impersonator ’ Finally Speaks Up – A Must Read
Alleged imposter, Ms Aisha Buhari, the woman who shares same name with President’s wife has finally broken silence on her alleged involvement in the Halliburton bribery scandal. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State had Monday accused the wife of the President of involvement in the Halliburton scandal which an American member of Congress was jailed for 13 years in 2009. THE FEDERAL Government has slammed a N50 billion suit against Anambra State Government over the state’s purported revocation of the 148.337 hectares of land at Amansea, Awka North Local Government of the state acquired for Federal Government Sites and Services Scheme.
Suit No. SC 876/2015: The Attorney-General of the Federation of Nigeria as plaintiff and the Attorney- General of Anambra State as defendant, the Federal Government is seeking eight declarations including N50 billion for exemplary and aggravated damages suffered by her by the alleged unconscionable actions of the defendant.
The claim of the plaintiff as contained in the Writ of Summons signed by the registrar of the court and dated November 9, 2015 is for “A declaration that the 148.337 hectares of land at Amansea, Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, comprising Federal Government Sites and Services Scheme, Amansea/ Awka, was lawfully acquired by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the state government in 1992, under the Land Use Act of 1978 (as amended).
“A declaration that the Federal Government of Nigeria had duly paid the required compensation that was assessed to the knowledge of and active collaboration with the Anambra State government.
“A declaration that the Federal Government of Nigeria had duly granted Statutory Rights of Occupancy to her Allotees and Development Partners, members of the public and original land owners to the knowledge of and active collaboration with the Anambra State government.
Too Bad!! Small Children Trying To Burgle A Shop Caught Details.
According to report, these little children were caught following a failed burglary operation recently. The kids who were nabbed by a lady were seen with cutlass, hammer and other materials in an attempt to break into her shop. The children were locked in the shop while the woman pondered on what should be done to them due to their young ages.
The question is what punishment will be right for these kids so as for them not to engage in the act again?
Just In!! Tension As Soldiers And Police Officers Exchange Fire At Maiduguri Government House
This afternoon, there was shoot out between some police officers and soldiers at the Maiduguri Government House, Borno state this afternoon when soldiers in a truck attempted to forcefully get a share of the rice being distributed to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) not living in camps in the state.
DailyTrust reports that the distribution of rice for the IDPs had started from about a week ago under the watch of policemen in the Government House who are to ensure that the rice is given only to the people who really need it.
It is being alleged that the soldiers had been coming to get from the rice since the distribution started without appropriate documentation.
However when they came for some rice today, the policemen refused to allow them to get from the rice distribution and a shootout ensued leading to at least one policeman being injured.

After being named the oldest female body builder by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 and 2011, Ernestine Shepherd, now 80, says staying out of shape at old age is merely an option, not a mandate. Posting on her Facebook page on Friday which was her birthday she said;
‘Hello everyone! Happy Birthday to me! Thank you all for your kind words, notes, cards, emails and phone calls. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I’ve been so busy enjoying my birthday that I forgot to post a birthday message to myself. I am 80 years young today and I thank God for bringing me this far.’
