Chris Brown denies being cause of daughter's asthma

Chris Brown fires back at his baby mama, Nia Guzman, who accused him of being the cause of their 19-month-old daughter's asthma thanks to his weed-smoking habit.

The singer took to his Instagram on January 31, denying the claim while insisting he's quite smoking and doesn't allow anyone smoke around baby Royalty. He says Guzman just wants to suck out more money for child support ($2,500 to $16,000/month).

"Absolutely untrue. I quit cigarettes on New Years. NO ONE smokes around my daughter. This is obviously a play to get some sort of increased income," he wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. Adding, "I take care of my daughter and I would never ever put her in a position that will harm her."

Chris went on to slam the "slander" which surrounds him and the people who "use" him, insisting he is just trying to do his best for his little girl. "I'm so sick and tired of negative people trying to use me and slander me. All this annoying bs, everybody knows what they do in this street. My daughter is my pride and joy and I will not be played because my lifestyle is different from other parties involved. This really has to stop.(sic)", he continued.

In her legal documents, Nia demanded the 26-year-old singer to hire a nanny or have his access restricted, but Chris says, "My daughter is the youngest in her class and the most advanced. My mother and I have made sure my daughter is constantly learning and being creative as well as her safety.(sic)".

He added: "I won't do the back and forth negative things so I'll just say god bless whoever is struggling and need to use me to better their life even though I fulfill my duties as a father."

President Buhari, urges North-East residents to be more vigilant, on the war against terrorist

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians, particularly those in the North-East states, to be more vigilant and ready to work with security operatives in ending the war against insurgency.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity,Mallam Garba Shehu.

The statement said President Buhari was reacting to the spate of suicide bombings in Chibok market, Dolari Internally Displaced Person’s (IDP) camp in Borno, and the Gombi market in Adamawa.

The President noted that the materials for the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were locally sourced by the insurgents, and urged Nigerians to be more circumspect and report suspicious purchases and movements of unusual components across the country.

He noted that the insurgents had suffered immensely from the sustained bombardments of their camps and hideouts by the Nigerian military and had resorted to using desperate measures to gain cheap media attention.

"I urge all citizens, wherever they live, to own the war against terror and to be part of the fight, because it is the only way we can finish the remaining work that needs to be done to make our country safe again,’’ he said.

Buhari said that the terrorists had been rendered weak, confused and homeless after repeated bombings and ravaging of their camps and hideouts by the military.

He further noted that the terrorists had been forced to find their way back into the society to wreak havoc, like the case of the Dolari IDP camp.

"Having lost the war, they are seeking ways and means to gradually find their way back into society.

"They are not returning to contribute, but to cause more havoc.

"They are so desperate to embarrass the government and the people that they have no qualms attacking isolated communities and markets,’’ he added.

Buhari extended his condolences to all the people of Chibok, Gombi and Dolari who lost loved ones in the recent bomb attacks.
