OLISA METUH GRANTED N400M BAIL........

I think the Judiciary is about to wake up. When a man collects Nigeria's money and brags that he would not tell federal investigators how he used the money, then such a person should be watched closely.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday granted bail to the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, to the tune of N400million.

In a bench ruling this afternoon, trial Justice Okon Abang ordered Metuh to also produce two sureties who must deposit the sum of N200m each.

The court ordered that the sureties must not only be residents in Abuja, but also

owners of landed ‎properties within the Maitama district of the FCT. ‎They are to submit the Certificate of Occupancy of the properties to the Chief Registrar of the court for verification, as well as submit their three years tax clearance.

According to the court, the sureties ‎must swear to an affidavit of means and also two recent passport.

More so, Justice Abang ordered Metuh to surrender his international passport to the Chief Registrar.

‎The PDP spokesman who was remanded in Kuje Prison last Friday, was brought to court in handcuffs.‎ He was driven to the court in a prison bus with registration No. PS-682-AO.

Metuh is answering to a seven-count criminal charge that was preferred against him by the ‎EFCC.‎

‎He is facing trial alongside his firm, ‎Destra Investment Ltd, ‎over alleged N400m fraud.‎ EFCC revealed that Metuh diverted most of it to his personal use.

The court had already fixed January 25 to commence full-blown hearing on the matter.

FEMALE BANKER BLAMES EVIL SPIRIT AFTER SHE WAS CAUGHT STEALING 15M NAIRA

A female staffer with an old generation bank located along Airport road in Benin City who was apprehended over allegation of swindling a wife of an aide to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of N15million on Monday was said to have blamed her ordeal on "spiritual attack".

The suspect, identified as Gloria Omoregie, was said to have lured his victim whose husband is the special adviser on security to Governor Oshiomhole to pay about Fifteen million naira in fix deposit.

A police source said the female banker, who will soon be arraigned, was said to have confessed to the crime and pleaded to be pardoned just as she blamed her present predicament on a spiritual affliction.

Trouble was said to have started for the suspect when she approached the victim, Mrs Mikano Kadiri, to fix the said money in a deposit account where she can enjoy some profit on a monthly basis.

She also confirmed to Mrs Kadiri that on request, the money could be withdrawn. The lid was said to be been blown off the suspect when Mrs Kadiri requested to have access to the money and she was told that the money had been lent to the bank’s cooperative, a development which arose her suspicion.

On investigation, it was discovered that the bank did not run a cooperative society and the money could not be traced. It was learnt that the said Glory wrote a letter of resignation to the bank which was revealed to the victims.

But if her claims of "evil spirit" is true then she also need help.

TOMPOLO WRITES LETTER TO BUHARI

Former leader of militants, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, has cried out on an alleged plan to take his life by defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta and Bayelsa states.
This was just as he said that the lawyer prosecuting the case preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) does not have the moral right to prosecute him in court.


Tompolo made these known in a letter he signed and forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari which was made available to IGBERE TV on Sunday in Warri, Delta State.

He said the PDP defectors, who are now members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from Warri South West Local Government Area of the state had resolved to link him to the renewed vandalism of oil installations in the state.

He also alleged that the APC new entrants were planning against him in connivance with a lawyer attached to the EFCC who is also a member of the APC, Tribune Online reported.
According to him, the EFCC lawyer who is after him was doing so because he (Tompolo) rejected an offer to buy choice properties from him.

“The crux of this letter is to let you know that they are dubious, mischievous, desperate, pretentious, manipulative and corrupt, therefore they do not share the same vision and mission with you as well as do not believe in good governance,” he said.

Owner of a car rental business in Nigeria, Alexis Zogbelemo was on Wednesday given the death penalty by the the Shah Alam High Court of malaysia for trafficking drugs into the conservative country.

Judge Datuk Akhtar Tahir sentenced Alexis Zogbelemow after finding him guilty of the offence involving 824.1 grammes of substances that tested positive for Methamphetamine.

The judge ruled that Alexis' defence statement was fabricated and merely a denial

 Alexis was nabbed at the main arrival hall of Kuala Lumpur Int'l Airport since February 28, 2012 but the case dragged on due to his denial until Januray 6, 2016, when he was finally sentenced.
